From January 1st to December 31st, 2023, 5.7 million passengers (inbound and outbound) transited the SJO.
December 2023 was the month with the highest passenger traffic in the history of the main air terminal.
These results are proof of the efforts of the AERIS people in coordination with all the authorities 
involved.  January, 2024. With a total of 5,682,476 passengers (inbound and outbound), last 2023 became 
the year with the highest passenger traffic in the history of Juan Santamaría International Airport (AIJS).

Thus, it surpassed the previous record year, 2019, when a total of 5,185,510 passengers were registered.

Another sign of the relevance of this milestone is that in the comparison of the total of 2023 with what
was accounted in an already successful 2022, there is a 22% increase in the number of travelers from
one year to the next, reported AERIS, interested manager of AIJS.
